Awards Criterea
Information on criteria for judging Registered Master Builders within industry standards
All entries in the competition are judged against a national scorecard to ensure consistency throughout the country. The Judges look at workmanship, design, functionality and the style of work undertaken. The property is also judged onthe quality of finishing, attention to detail, structure, difficulty, energy efficiency, installation of materials, creation or retention of character and innovation of product use.
A property and builder presented with a Gold Award is judged to be at least 80% higher than the Industry Standard. All Gold Award winners from around NZ are then collated to determine the top 100 scoring Gold Award Winners. The top 100 are then presented with a National Gold Reserve Award and are judged for the National Finals.
Where a property and builder are presented with a Silver Award, the entry is judged to be at least 65% higher than the Industry Standard.
Bronze awards are awarded to builders whose entries are judged to be at least 50% higher than the Industry Standard.
